Coronavirus Update: We are immensely proud of our team for how quickly they have adapted our offer to meet the significant demand for our services and support. Our staff team have worked tirelessly and innovatively to provide frequent online services and specialist support. AB Team, you are utterly amazing in how you use your passion and expertise to enrich the lives of autistic people and their supporters and we are grateful to have you all.
Our members have been receiving vital support and interaction through our helpline service and new text service with extended evening sessions. To ensure autistic children/adults can still access our social activities and have virtual meet-ups we have developed online groups, forums and chat rooms to provide a lifeline for people who are feeling extremely isolated and overwhelmed. In April, we launched our new COVID-19 webpages with personalised resources to empower autistic children/adults. We are providing online/ bespoke resources and sensory kits to support autistic people and their families. We are also providing materials to develop skills and promote and support self-help.

· If you access our groups we will contact you directly to share our plans
· We continue to follow the government guidance on coronavirus, which you can read here: https://www.gov.uk/
We are still taking membership registrations, referrals and assessments and continue working to:
· Reduce isolation and provide practical and emotional support
· Increase skills; resilience and social communication
· Improve confidence and empowerment
Autism Bedfordshire has facilitated and led more sessions, personalised 1:1’s and resources than ever in these unprecedented times (see what we have been doing here) and will continue to strive to prevent crisis and create new ways to serve and support autistic people in Bedfordshire.
Stay in touch and let us know how we can help you…we are here more than ever, stay safe and well.
