Bedford, Bedfordshire

£18,250 - £22,750 p.a. plus stakeholder pension.

37.5 hours per week (part-time/ job share considered for the right applicant).

We are recruiting a manager to run our new charity shop which will be opening soon on Bedford High Street. 

The successful candidate will have an extraordinary and demonstrable ability to motivate, support and build strong relationships with volunteers. You will have a strong understanding of, and enthusiasm for, high street retail and fashion with a commercial focus to identify opportunities and drive sales.

In addition you will:

  • Have a good understanding of retail business disciplines including budgeting, customer service, cash handling, stock control, working to financial targets;
  • Have exceptional organisation and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure;
  • Be a team player with the ability to work independently and on own initiative;
  • Have the ability to recognise and prioritise opportunities with the greatest potential;
  • Experience of working with volunteers is essential.

Charity Shop Assistant Manager

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Charity Shop Manager to help assist in running Autism Bedfordshire’s charity shop in Bedford. The Assistant Shop Manager will be responsible for the day to day operation of the shop while ensuring that targets are met. The post-holder will take responsibility for the management of the shop including staff and volunteers.

Key responsibilities will include ensuring the highest standards of customer care, managing the daily operation of the shop including stock management and shop appearance, managing the security and accounting of cash, health and safety issues, administrative tasks, and the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers.

Team Leader at Biggleswade Wanted Fun

Part-Time: alternate Thursday evenings during term-time

£9.12 per hour (including holiday entitlement)

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Team Leader to provide maternity cover at our Wanted Fun group in Biggleswade from September 2018.
 
Wanted Fun is a social club for young people aged 10-17 years with Asperger Syndrome or high functioning autism.  Groups run in the evening, once every two weeks during term time.
 
Key aspects of the role involve planning sessions, managing a small staff team and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to. Working closely with the Children’s Services team you will continue to support excellent service delivery for our existing and future families.

Location:                         Biggleswade
Dates:                             Thursday evenings fortnightly during term time

The ideal candidate will have a NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in health, education, childcare or social care. Good communication and organisational skills are essential.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic team players to join the Autism Bedfordshire team. Successful applicants will provide support for children and young people with autism and Asperger Syndrome who attend our LOAF groups in Biggleswade, Leighton Buzzard and Luton.

 Applicants will need to have relevant experience & qualifications:

  • Experience of Health/Education/Social Care Roles;
  • Experience of Managing Challenging Behaviour;
  • Knowledge of Autism;
  • Knowledge of Asperger’s Syndrome;
  • GCSEs or Equivalent Qualifications;
  • Health/Education/Social Care Qualifications (Level 3).
